   Betty Booom was a corporate citizen of Varda, until she decided to join an off-world mercenary unit, rather than enter corporate service at age 18. 

    The mercenary unit in question was called the "Black Hussars" a light infantry unit, which usually operated in support of armoured formations, as escorts for vehicle convoys or as fast raiders. They were grav equipped, mostly air/rafts, with a few heavier vehicles. Betty learned to shoot (Rifle-1) and operate the unit's vehicles (Air/raft-1). 

    While not as strong as some of her peers (STR-4), she was noted for her hand/eye coordination (DEX-B), and high education (EDU-B), which she improved upon by undertaking classes in her spare time (EDU-C). Her superiors thought she would make a good platoon commander. So she was commissioned as a lieutenant (SMG-1) and taught the fundamentals of commanding a platoon in battle (Tactics-1). A year or so later she was promoted to Captain and assigned to the Hussars' command team, specifically as a member of the computer support staff who operated and maintained the entire unit's computer network and equipment (Computer-1).

    Recently the mercenary trade seems to have hit a dry spell, and as Betty's contract was up, command saw fit to let her go. Betty had managed to save some money Cr5,000 and was granted a Mid Passage to get her home (Mustering out benefits).

Referee: Betty can be found anywhere within The Void subsector, but most likely to rimward of the actual Void. Yes, Betty is the girl mentioned in the write up for Marc Spieler.

Player/Referee: Betty isn't very strong but she is small, agile and has good hand/eye coordination (low STR and high DEX). She is quite learned and rather well read, and has quite a store of knowledge in her areas of expertise. She is less inclined to come up with intuitive solutions and more likely to approach any task in a methodical way, utilising her broad knowledge base to help her accomplish her goals (low INT and high EDU).
