New Vistula Legion, part 2
Better late than never.(me not PicoArmor, they delivered rather quickly in fact)
I received my order from Pico Armor, which was mostly the remainder of the New Vistula Legion figures made by Oddzial Ozmy.
The AP Team pack consists of six unique miniatures, each representing one of the designers and/or playtesters of PMC 2640 as well as a couple of the Oddzial Ozmy team, they've been reviewed elsewhere by one of the team they modelled them on.
The NVL Characters pack provides some interesting figures. There are six poses some of which remind me of characters from Aliens. The pack itself would make a nice command squad for an NVL force or for another force entirely.
Scientists One scientist holding aloft and examining the contents of an erlenmeyer flask, another standing holding a file folder and a female scientist who looks to be carefully carrying a bottle of something.
NVL LRRP These guys would make a great SOF team. They are kitted out for a long range recon mission. They carry pretty much everything they'll need for the mission.
NVL Troopers I pack contains 6 unique poses. I see a resemblance to Colonial Marines. The weapons are different but they do look like they'd make good substitutes for the USCMC. They have helmet cams, body armour and a plethora of pouches on their webbing.
NVL Troopers II pack is the same as above but in different poses.
NVL SAWs pack has a definite USCMC vibe going.
NVL NCOs pack
With the exception of a few characters, all NVL figures wear a sort of carapace type armoured vest, with abdominal plates, shoulder and knee guards.
Their web gear is abundant, perhaps indicative of their supply situation/tactical role. I'm getting a paratrooper vibe from them, like their meant to operate deep behind enemy lines and fight until more conventional forces can link up with them and they can be resupplied.
I'm thinking of an Airborne, Air Cav, Colonial Marine, Lift Infantry type force with these guys.

Left to right: Ponytail, Cigar and ACR, a bald giant with a RPG and a logo on his T-Shirt, a long-haired techy with datapad, a freaky looking female sniper wearing a facemask and goggles, a dude with a cap and a NVL ACR, and finally a guy wearing a greatcoat carrying a SMG.

Left to Right: The stern general, usually eaten by aliens, security team member with mohawk and heavy rifle. commtech with HUD commo helmet, medic or commtech with diagnostic datapad and tool/medkit, the young and cocky platoon leader, and finally a female security team member that might go by the name of Vasquez.
Scientists One scientist holding aloft and examining the contents of an erlenmeyer flask, another standing holding a file folder and a female scientist who looks to be carefully carrying a bottle of something.
Three poses, two of each. From left to right: I'm certain there is a maniacal grin hidden under all that facial hair, the project director does not look amused and the assistant turned thief is stealing a prototype Illudium Q36 explosive space modulator.

Six unique poses and a drone
The same poses from the rear, showing the carried gear.

Another 6 unique miniatures

Two each of three poses. The guns are clearly held in the approved USCMC manner and very likely assisted by a gyro-stabilised harness. Targeting is facilitated through the HUD monocle worn by the gunner.
Two each of three poses. The figure on the right has a cigar in his mouth, obviously a sergeant, probably named Apone.

They are very nice figures if somewhat brittle (be careful) I have two large units of them for two different armies, they mix in well with several GZGs types as well.
ReplyDeleteThey are very nice, (Go out and buy some people). I can't wait to get them painted and on the table.
