    Mariska is the daughter of VardaCorp executive, and as such is afforded the honorific “GenFem” when back home on Varda (Soc B), (the male equivalent is “GenHom”).

    Mariska was a sickly child, suffering from several allergies and a relatively low white cell count, (low END). She spent a lot of time indoors, isolated from the world outside her family home. Her parents hired tutors to see to her education (EDU 8), including a physical trainer (STR 8).

    Against her parents wishes, she left home at the age of eighteen to seek a career as a scout. Having spent much of her childhood isolated from the world, Mariska determined to see more than just the world beyond the house walls, she would explore other worlds as well.

    She booked passage for Moni and joined the Moni Exploration service (MEX).

    She received instruction in starship piloting (Pilot-1) and undertook a course in electronics (Electronics-1). She was also put through some rather challenging problem solving exercises forcing her to think her way through or out of them (+1 INT). When Mariska applied to reenlist she found that the service had actually issued a recall order, making her reenlistment mandatory (double 6 on the reenlistment roll).

    Her second term saw her serving aboard ship exploring and cataloguing worlds within the Void subsector. During this time she spent a lot of time learning the ins and outs of the ship’s drives (Engineering-1 and Mechanical-1).

    Reenlisting for her third term she found a bit more excitement as she learned to manoeuvre around the ship in both normal and zero gravity (+1 DEX) and was forced to take on several roles for which she was not trained during several crises' (JoT-1).

    Reenlisting for a fourth term Mariska undertook advanced electronics and    engineering courses, while serving both aboard ship and dirtside at the MEX base on Moni (Electronics-2 and Engineering-2). During this term Mariska began to feel age catching up with her (-1 STR, DEX and END) and decided not to reenlist at the end of the term, she did however manage to gain the use of a surplus scoutship and with her savings, is looking forward to exploring further, but perhaps at a more sedate pace than the MEX required.

    Referee: GenFem Mariska Veres and her ship “Blossom Lady” can be found on or near any world with a scout base present and also on Varda. The Blossom Lady is painted a shocking blue colour. Mariska will accept charters and other jobs as needed to fund her exploration of the galaxy.
