"We think a....... Xenomorph, may be involved", "A what?.... Sir"
A new queen has been born and she has quickly expanded the nest.
(I ordered a bunch of Khurasan's Space Demons, 1x Queen, both packs of Assault Warriors and both packs of Infiltrator Warriors, (12x Warriors per pack)).
The nest has now expanded to 1x Queen, 6x Royal Guard (GZG Xenomorphs) and the 48x Warriors.
These models had some flash, but it was kind of odd. Several figures with the same pose exhibited different degrees of flash, some would have almost no flash and some quite a lot. I have no experience with casting figures and can only assume this is caused by overheating the mould during several castings. A little bit of work cleaned them up.
They match well with the GZG Xenomorphs, the few differences are not a deal breaker. Each pack contain 12x figures in 4x poses, 6x Heads with the inner jaw extended and 6x heads with inner jaws concealed. So there is a good variety of poses possible.
I gave the figures a black wash to show some detail, actually this is my primary painting method for xenomorphs. I hit them with several black washes, and end with a greenish/black wash. Ideally some metal should still be visible on the spines and ridges, just enough to give a metallic-organic look.

The Infiltrator Warriors have smooth heads.
The Assault Warriors have ridged heads.
The Queen with her (GZG) Royal Guard.
The whole nest, all 55 Xenomorphs.
The Queen herself, all 28mm of her.
GZG Xenomorph, flanked by Space Demons.
Naturally the number of Bug Hunt scenarios will probably increase very soon. So expect Friday Night Firefight to be a little more terrifying, on occasion. I'll post my SGII unit cards for them asap.
Five Alpha, out.
