Third French Empire, Part 2

The work continues on the Third French Empire's forces, well, at least the thinking continues. I've com to the conclusion that I need to mix the helmeted and kepi wearing figures together into a single force. This lets me follow the TO&E in Tomorrow's War. It let's me field a full platoon with optional load outs and specialist teams, when I need them.

This TO&E follows the one listed for the FFL on page 208 of Tomorrow's War to the letter.
However, using left over figures and the heavy support weapons from GZG's FSE range, I've come up with an alternative option for the LÉ in which the Nemesis RAC teams are replaced by Plasma Cannon teams. Since these plasma cannons are on wheeled undercarriages they should be towed behind a wheeled or tracked vehicle.
Therefore, the plasma cannons are usually found with LÉ formations stationed on worlds with thin atmospheres (these are breathable but not dense enough for hover vehicles to operate effectively) or on other worlds in formations which employ wheeled or tracked vehicles for other reasons.


This organisation yields a 56 man platoon, not including vehicle crews.

Attachments from company or above include the Groupe Appui Mortair (organised the same as the Groupe Appui Anti Char), Sniper teams, and Fwd Obs/TAC teams.

Note: My French is positively atrocious, so feel free to correct me wherever necessary.

I'm waiting on a different type of base from Litko Game Accessories which I want to try out, before painting these up.

I have some Power Armour for these guys as well, but need to think about them a little more, before comment further. Maybe a type of special forces or marines.
